Description

  • Hardware Analysis: Analyze complex hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, network design, and other technical hardware issues.

  • Procurement and Testing: Procure and perform acceptance testing on equipment.

  • Hardware Maintenance: Provide hardware maintenance support, including preventative and remedial measures.

  • Deployment and Installation: Deploy, install, and implement hardware at CONUS and OCONUS locations.

  • Hardware Specification Development: Analyze documented and derived system requirements to prepare specifications for hardware.

  • Site Surveys: Conduct site surveys to gather information for project planning.

  • Engineering Plans and Design Packages: Prepare engineering plans and site Technical Design Packages.

  • Installation Management: Organize and direct hardware installations.

  • Configuration and Documentation: Configure and document the configuration of computers, networking devices, and various peripheral equipment.

  • Installation and Test Reports: Prepare site installation and test reports.

  • Problem Resolution: Ensure problems are properly identified and solutions satisfy user requirements.

  • Technology Research and Reporting: Prepare reports and recommendations concerning existing and emerging hardware technologies.

  • System Design Input: Provide specific input to the hardware components of system design, including end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors.

Relevant Experience

  • Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions.

  • Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to develop practical hardware component designs. This includes servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.

  • Identify and troubleshoot operational hardware problems, ensuring solutions meet user needs.

  • Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Conduct site surveys, assessing and documenting current network configuration and site-specific requirements.

  • Develop hardware installation schedules based on setup, integration, and test timelines.

  • Train site personnel in proper hardware usage.

  • Recommend hardware acquisition specifications.

  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.

  • Prepare drawings documenting as-built configurations at each site.

  • Prepare site installation and test reports.

  • Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.

Education

  • Seven (7) years experience as a HE analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required

  • Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
