Description

  • Develop and implement permanent solutions, workarounds, patches, or configuration changes to address recurring or severe incidents across sites.

  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex network, server, database, and application-level issues impacting site functionality.

  • Analyze system logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic data to identify underlying causes of failures or degraded service across the enterprise's sites.

  • Collaborate directly with site technical teams, engineering, and development teams to resolve intractable problems and influence product improvements.

  • Design and implement architectural enhancements or system modifications to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of site environments.

  • Develop and maintain advanced troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and operational procedures for lower-tier support teams.

  • Lead post-incident reviews for critical site outages, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into future processes and designs.

  • Act as the final escalation point for technical issues that cannot be resolved by Tiers 1, 2, or 3, providing definitive solutions and guidance to sites.

  • Proactively identify common patterns of failure or inefficiency across sites and propose strategic preventative measures.

Work Experience

  • Support and maintain HPC MPP systems, leveraging a strong working knowledge of their architecture and operation.

  • Configure, tune, test, troubleshoot, and provide advanced support for distributed computing tools like RES, LSF, and SLURM.

  • Configure, tune, test, and perform advanced troubleshooting for RedHat and Suse operating systems.

  • 10 years' experience (with degree or 15 without) in a large and complex IT environment providing industry and government recognized functional expertise with the skills listed above
