Description

  • Lead the diagnosis and resolution of the most complex, systemic, and elusive Lustre file system issues, performing deep dive root cause analysis.

  • Provide expert-level support for performance bottlenecks, data integrity concerns, and critical outages affecting large-scale Lustre environments.

  • Design, architect, and implement scalable and high-performing Lustre solutions to meet evolving High-Performance Computing (HPC) demands.

  • Proactively identify and implement optimizations for Lustre performance, I/O patterns, and metadata operations across the HPC infrastructure.

  • Develop and refine monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies for comprehensive Lustre health and performance tracking.

  • Oversee major Lustre upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects, ensuring minimal disruption to HPC workloads.

  • Act as a primary liaison with Lustre vendors and the open-source community for advanced bug reporting, feature requests, and technical consultations.

  • Collaborate closely with HPC system administrators, researchers, and other technical teams to understand requirements and integrate Lustre effectively into complex workflows.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Tier 1-3 support personnel and other HPC team members on Lustre best practices and advanced troubleshooting techniques.

  • Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery, backup, and high availability strategies for critical Lustre data and services.

  • Automate routine operational tasks and develop custom tools or scripts to enhance Lustre management and user experience.

  • Evaluate, test, and integrate new Lustre features, versions, and complementary storage technologies to enhance the HPC ecosystem.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for Lustre architecture, configurations, and complex issue resolution.

Work Experience

  • Execute configuration, tuning, testing, and advanced storage troubleshooting for cloud-based implementations such as HADOOP.

  • Provide configuration, tuning, testing, and advanced storage troubleshooting for RedHat, Suse, and Solaris operating systems, specifically pertaining to file services and Fibre Channel (FC) connectivity.

  • Install, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and administer SGI IRIX based operating systems.

  • Manage and maintain SGI systems, including those with direct attached storage and Fibre Channel (FC) SAN storage.

  • Administer Network Appliance clusters, encompassing direct attached storage and Fibre Channel (FC) SAN storage.

  • Support and troubleshoot applications deployed on Network Appliance and SGI IRIX platforms.

  • Install, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and administer multi-vendor clustered file systems such as GPFS and Lustre.

  • Manage and troubleshoot Brocade Fibre Channel (FC) switch networks.

  • Install, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and administer enterprise-class storage arrays.

  • Optimize and manage Solid State Disk (SSD) storage solutions.

  • Administer NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliances.

  • Install, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and administer HPSE solutions.

  • Manage and troubleshoot Data Domain and similar data deduplication products.

  • Install, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and administer cloud-based storage solutions, including HADOOP and IBM BigInsights.

  • Manage and resolve trouble tickets efficiently using the Remedy ITSM system.
