Description

  • Develop and enforce robust enterprise network security strategies, including defining and managing security boundaries.

  • Integrate, manage, and optimize networking within datacenter virtualization environments.

  • Administer, maintain, and evolve CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Perform in-depth network analysis and troubleshooting using advanced packet capture software.

  • Diagnose and resolve intricate issues related to the TCP/IP protocol stack.

  • Configure, optimize, and manage a variety of routing and switching protocols.

  • Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot stateful firewalls and their associated policies.

  • Design and apply L3/L4 access controls to ensure granular network segmentation and secure access.

Work Experience

  • Design, implement, and support IPSEC VPN solutions.

  • Perform physical installation, configuration, and comprehensive troubleshooting of network routers, switches, load balancers, and security devices.

  • Leverage deep understanding of TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, and various routing and switching protocols to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure.

  • Utilize network management and monitoring tools such as Ciscoworks and HP Openview for fault detection, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.

  • Administer and maintain network authentication, authorization, and accounting services using TACACS+.

  • Provide operational support for Infiniband and FiberChannel (FC) SAN environments.

  • Support network integration and connectivity for virtualized platforms including VMWare and Solaris containers.

  • Respond to and resolve network incidents and service requests in a live call environment, meticulously documenting all work within a ticketing system like Remedy or similar platforms.

  • Utilize Atlassian Tool Suite for project management, documentation, and collaborative task tracking.

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 network support.

Relevant Experience

  • Eight years demonstrable experience (with degree, or 10 without) in network engineering (LAN), architecture, monitoring, security, and protection

  • Must have datacenter network design and architecture experience to include installation and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC virtual private networks
